Health and Safety Policy
We firmly believe that, Health and safety of our employees, who are an asset to the company, is most importance. Therefore we are committed to bring safety on top of mind for all employees by maintaining high standards of safety culture with all manufacturing processes, activities and operations.
Objectives
  • Provide and maintain safe and healthy workplace through standard operational procedures, safety systems and methods of work.
  • To give highest priority to safety in selection of machines, equipments and with their erection and commissioning activities.
  • Provide appropriate level of training and support to staff and employees to ensure that they are able to fulfill health and safety responsibilities.
  • To identify and eliminate risk related to process by carrying out safety audits.
  • The management sincerely believes that accidents are preventable and aim to achieve ‘ZERO ACCIDENT LEVEL’.
MISSION

The management and employee of Climax Engineering Enterprises are dedicated to continuous efforts to improve the Health and Safety of all its personnel while supplying cost effective and high quality products to its customers.

PREFACE

Modern industries are characterized by complicated mechanisms, intricate job requirements, fast moving production alongwith safe and healthy work environment. Human resources are considered as the most valuable and productive asset. Our company, Climax Engineering Enterprises has therefore framed the health and safety policy covering statutory measures alongwith non statutory requirements which are essential for health and safety of all employees.

OBJECTIVE

The main objectives of framing the Health and Safety Policy are,

  • Provide and maintain safe and healthy workplace through standard operational procedures, safety systems and methods of work.
  • To give highest priority to safety in selection of machines, equipments and with their erection and commissioning activities.
  • Provide appropriate level of training and support to staff and employees to ensure that they are able to fulfill health and safety responsibilities.
  • To identify and eliminate risk related to process by carrying out safety audits.

SAFETY COMMITTEE

  • Safety committee will ensure implementation of safety measures. They will collect feedback from all employees, analyze the causes of accidents and try to control and prevent such occurrences in future through continual improvements.
  • The committee comprises of the C.E.O., Plant In charge, Production In charge, Q.C. In charge and shop supervisor.
  • Safety committee will meet once every quarter to discuss various issues related with Health and Safety of employees. An audit will also be carried out once every six months to ensure effectiveness of Health and safety policy

SAFETY GEAR

All staff and employees working within specified areas will wear safety gear as per guidelines given below

  • Safety Gear Applicable to Specified Areas.
  • Shoes or Chappals for all staff and workers of the company of all manufacturing areas.
  • Safety goggles for all workers Employed on machines like CNC m/c, C&F m/c, bench grinder, Lathe m/c.
  • Ear protectors for all workers Employed on machines.
  • Safety Gloves for all workers Employed in scrap handling operations.
  • Apron for all workers Working in machine shop.

AWARENESS

  • All persons must be aware of location of electrical main switches, fire fighting appliances. Fire fighting equipments must be easily accessible.
  • The operating instructions of various machines must be displayed prominently on the respective machines.
  • Important instructions of commonly used equipment (compressor, Generator etc.) must be displayed near machine.
  • Safety Instructions must be display in shop.

HEALTH

  • Smoking and spitting will not be permitted within factory premises.
  • Cleanliness of working areas must be maintained at all times and good housekeeping norms to be followed.
  • Toilets, Lunchroom should etc. should be cleaned every day. Roof, ventilators etc must be free from cobwebs at all times.
  • No person would be allowed to lift or carry things which weigh more than 55 Kg.

PREVENTIVES

  • All machines having moving parts must be covered /protected properly.
  • No person under age of 18 will be employed in any part of factory.
  • There should not be any items hanging loose without proper support.
  • Preventive maintenance of all machines must be carried out within specified periods.
  • There should not be any loose, live or dead electrical wire in any part of factory premises.
  • Material should not be stored permanently or kept temporarily on any gangway.
  • Safety clip, labels, validity and serviceability of firefighting equipment must be checked frequently.
  • There should not be any leaking pipeline, valves and storage tanks.
  • Working area should be free from spill of oil, grease or paint.
  • First aid box must be properly maintained.
  • Security will maintain telephone numbers of hospitals and important personnel of company.

MEASURES

  • Health and Safety policy will be updated as and when required.
  • Employees will be encouraged to offer suggestions. Valid suggestions from will be included in the policy.
  • Company will impart training to increase awareness and create healthy and safe working conditions for all employees.

REPORT

  • All accidents must be reported within 24 hours. Shop supervisors will report all accident cases to safety committee in “Accident Report Form “ as per Annexure 1 enclosed.
  • All planned inspections /audits will report their findings in prescribed format.
  • Unsafe working condition/practices must be reported immediately to concerned supervisor and safety committee. The report can be verbal or written, depending upon situation.
